St. Matthew Passion

Bach's St Matthew Passion is one of the most powerful and moving expressions of the Passion of Christ. From the first notes to the breathtaking final chorus, Bach, by playing with numbers and harmonizations, has loaded the entire score with numerous subtle symbolic references to the words of the Gospel of Matthew.

Bachkoor Holland performs the St Matthew Passion three times during two evening concerts and an afternoon concert. The concert on Good Friday consists of two parts with a long lunch break in between. The church is always open to the public one hour before the start.

Live stream

We will broadcast a live stream from the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft to a hospice and a hospital, allowing those who cannot attend the concert in person to enjoy the music. Please note that you may appear on camera during the broadcast.
